The victor returns home from his travels
Yet, things just aren’t the same as it once was
Activities which were once joyous, now just bore
Memories which left one full, now have left a hungering for more
Sadly, home just isn’t home anymore
The couch just isn’t as comfortable
The laughs just don’t last as long as before
The smile just isn’t as wide anymore
This house now feels like an extended visit
A place I can come back to, but never can I call it my own again
See, after you see the world, the idea of home changes
Love remains, but the pedestal for which it was placed is gone
