Peak

By Jamari Jordan
To say I peaked already
would mean my feet have left the ground.
Signaling I got out my own way
and tried to progress.
Not giving in to the fear of failure
and stuck in the pit of doubt.
Its hollow whispers linger with
strategic insults piercing my ear.
A peak would require an end
and mine is lost in the distance.
Positioned between me and my peak
is a murky, cloudy present.
